Registration:

You must register with the static IP address of the machine(s) (even if just testing our web services work), before using our web service with your own front end (web/desktop)/our front ends(web/desktop), as we are providing a free service. If you don't register you may receive no data back. Those whom registered before April 2009, will have to re-register due to the new registration system.

The free download is labelled 'Share Prices 4 Mobile(WinCE).'. We also have our new Windows Mobile 5 version which gets data directly from Yahoo! Finance, its a free download labelled 'SP4M-WM5Yhoo'
Share Prices 4 Mobile (Web) - requires a mobile device with internet browsing capability (http://mobi.sharepricewebservice.co.uk/) or wap services such as o2 active (type in wsp://mobi.sharepricewebservice.co.uk - o2 active only).To try a symbol search use III.L or use BP for a company search. This works in iphone/ipod touch (tested it even in the iphone simulator after compling a sample application.)

Share Prices 4 Mobile (JAVA) - requires a pc with netbeans 6 full package or sun wireless toolkit 2.5.2 (midp2 & cdlc 1.1) for running in an emulator. Will require internet access on a pc to connect to the web service.

Support:

When you are using any front-end for the share price web service, and you get an error saying unable to connect to the share price web service. Then if its a windows desktop application, you should check the web service url in the app.config file/SharePricesdotnet3.exe.config file(for the dotnet v3 app)/SharePrices64bit.exe.config(for 64bit version) is pointing to http://www.webspecdevit.co.uk/WebServices3/NETSharePriceWS.asmx. However, if its a web application you need to check the web service url in the web.config file is pointing to http://www.webspecdevit.co.uk/WebServices3/NETSharePriceWS.asmx.

System requirements for Pocket PC 2003 application:

.NET framework CF v1+
Internet access, so as to connect to the web service.
